West Java’s 80th Anniversary Celebration Features Sunda Kingdom Parade

Bandung, August 19, 2025 – The West Java Government celebrated its 80th anniversary with various cultural activities. One of the highlights was the Sunda Kingdom-themed cultural parade, showcasing the legacy of the Tarumanegara, Galuh, and Sumedanglarang Kingdoms.

The parade involved 27 districts/cities and around 3,000 participants. Each region showcased the richness of Sunda traditions through costumes, folklore, traditional art performances, and West Javanese cuisine.

The event began at 3:00 PM WIB, with the route Gedung Merdeka – Jalan Sukarno – Naripan – Braga – Suniaraja – Wastukencana – LLRE Martadinata – Dago – Diponegoro – and ending at Gedung Sate, covering about 3 kilometers.
