However, when the child is born abroad, many parents remain unsure about the document processing, citizenship status, and the rights the child is entitled to. Does the child automatically become an Indonesian citizen? Can they hold dual citizenship? What documents need to be processed in the country of birth, at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) or Consulate General (KJRI), and upon returning to Indonesia?
