Some interesting facts: 📅 Established: In 1638 by Mustafa Ağa. ☕ The name "Tahmis": Derived from a word meaning to grind or roast coffee, as the building was originally used for grinding coffee beans. 🕌 Original function: It operated as a productive *waqf* (endowment), where profits from the coffeehouse were used to fund educational and religious activities. 🔥 Fire damage: It was later rebuilt by Sheikh Mehmet Münip Efendi and once again designated as an endowment. 👴 Still in operation: This makes it one of the oldest coffeehouses in Turkey that continues to serve visitors today.
