Jakarta – Access to several traffic surveillance CCTV cameras in Jakarta through the platform LewatMana.com was reported disrupted today. Some cameras that usually show road conditions in real time suddenly became inaccessible, leaving no usual availability of views from various main streets of the capital city.
The disturbance occurred simultaneously with student protests at various locations in Jakarta. This situation particularly caught public attention as surveillance cameras (CCTV) have long been a tool used by the community to monitor traffic flow, vehicle density, and road conditions directly.
Several users reported that cameras did not display images or failed to connect when accessed through the LewatMana.com site. As a result, monitoring traffic conditions and on-site situations became more limited during the disruption.
As of now, there has been no official statement regarding the cause of the disruption or when service will be restored to normal. The public is still awaiting further explanation from relevant parties concerning the issue with that monitoring system.
