Pertamina officially raised the price of non-subsidized fuel after conducting periodic evaluations with the government. This policy takes into account developments in global oil prices and market conditions. The price of Pertamax is now Rp16,250 per liter from Rp12,300, while Pertamax Green has increased to Rp17,000 per liter from Rp12,900 per liter.
Responding to this policy, CORE Indonesia Executive Director Mohammad Faisal stated that the change in non-subsidized fuel prices is reasonable because it follows market mechanisms. He explained that the price increase has actually been appropriate for some time now, in line with the rising price of Indonesian crude oil (ICP) on the global market.
