Jakarta – The Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta will turn off lights for one hour on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM WIB.
This activity is carried out to commemorate World Environment Day while also encouraging the community to be more concerned about energy conservation efforts and reduction of emissions.
The light outage will include government buildings, DKI Jakarta provincial offices, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, apartments, major roads, as well as city icons such as National Monument (Monas) and Hotel Indonesia (HI). However, essential services like hospitals, health clinics, and clinics will continue to operate normally and will not be affected by this policy.
During a similar event held on Earth Day 2025, Jakarta successfully saved 96.91 MWh of electricity with an economic saving value exceeding Rp140 million.
