Brazil and Turkey Citizens Now Get Visa-Free Entry to Indonesia
Starting July 2025, the Indonesian government officially added Brazil and Turkey to the list of countries eligible for Visa-Free Visit (BVK). With this policy, citizens of both countries can enter Indonesia without a visa for short stays of up to 30 days.
Visa-Free Visit Requirements
The BVK facility is valid for a single entry only and cannot be extended or converted into another type of residence permit.
Permitted purposes include:
- Tourism
- Business meetings
- Medical treatment
The Director of Immigration Traffic, Yuldi, explained that the visa-free policy was based on reciprocity.
“The main consideration for granting BVK to Brazil and Turkey is that these countries had already provided visa-free entry to Indonesian citizens,” he said.
This decision was also the result of periodic evaluations carried out by the Indonesian government in coordination with relevant agencies.
Countries Eligible for Visa-Free Entry to Indonesia
With the addition of Brazil and Turkey, there are now 15 countries/regions eligible for visa-free entry to Indonesia:
- Brunei Darussalam
- Philippines
- Cambodia
- Laos
- Malaysia
- Myanmar
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- Timor Leste
- Suriname
- Colombia
- Hong Kong
- Turkey
- Brazil
Benefits of the Policy
This policy is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations, increase international tourist arrivals, and expand cooperation in economics, business, and healthcare.
With easier access, Indonesia is becoming more open to visitors from around the world.
