BEM UI Akan Gelar Aksi Demonstrasi di Bundaran HI, Hari Ini Pukul 10.00 WIB

Jakarta – On Friday, June 12, 2026, the Student Executive Boards (BEM) of all faculties at the University of Indonesia (UI) will hold a demonstration at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout in Menteng, Central Jakarta.

A total of 1,500 students are expected to participate in the demonstration. According to information conveyed by the Head of the UI Faculty of Law BEM, Anandaku Dimas Rumi Chattaristo, the demonstration is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. WIB.

"The demonstration will start at 10:00 a.m. WIB at the HI Roundabout,"* said Dimas when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (June 11, 2026).

In this demonstration, students will voice five main demands to the government:

1. Stop the waste of the State Budget (APBN).
2. Reduce the prices of basic necessities and fuel (BBM).
3. Stop the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) and the construction of the Red and White Village Cooperative.
4. Stop the practice of militarism in the civilian sphere.
5. Urge President Prabowo Subianto to acknowledge and take responsibility for the government's mistakes.

People planning to pass through the area are advised to anticipate potential traffic congestion and seek alternative routes. The demonstration, which will take place at one of the capital's strategic points, is expected to impact traffic flow around the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout and the MH Thamrin area.

The main focus of the protesters will be various economic, social, and government policy issues. This demonstration is expected to be one of the largest student demonstrations held in 2026.
