Make an AppointmentAll immigration and consular services require an online reservation at https://services.kjrimelbourne.au; applications made without one are not served at the counter. Indonesian passport applications require attendance in person for the photograph and biometrics, so they cannot be lodged online or by post. Document processing takes three to fourteen working days. Beyond the counter hours there are two programmes with no fixed schedule — SOS (Services on Saturday) and DIAL (Dialogue and Consular Services) — announced through the Consulate's social media. Indonesian visa applications go directly to the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta via https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id; visa approval is not issued by the Consulate General in Melbourne.

How do I apply for an Indonesian visa?
All visa applications go directly to the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta at https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Visa approval is not issued by the Consulate General in Melbourne.
Does a passport application require a reservation?
Yes. Passport renewal, replacement of a lost or damaged passport, and first-time issuance all require an online reservation at https://services.kjrimelbourne.au. Applications without a reservation are not accepted at the counter. You may book up to six months before your passport expires.
My reservation date is far off but I need the passport urgently. Can I skip the online booking?
No. In an emergency, however, you may apply for an SPLP — a travel document in lieu of a passport, valid for a single one-way journey to Indonesia — through the service reservation application under the Immigration menu.
Can documents or a passport be collected without the receipt, and can someone else collect them?
Documents and passports may be collected by the applicant or by a representative, on presentation of the original receipt or of the completion notice in the service reservation application.
Does the Consulate General in Melbourne issue SKCK (police clearance certificates)?
No. The Consulate General in Melbourne has no authority to process SKCK.
I am on a tourist visa while applying for permanent residency — must I still register?
Yes. Under Law No. 23 of 2006 on Population Administration, Indonesian citizens residing abroad for more than six months are required to register regardless of visa status.
